Game Changer

We announced 2021 to be a ''Game Changer'' for Paysend. So why would we invite freestyle rapper Chris Turner to poke fun at our global leadership team?

At Paysend we are obsessed with creating a high-performance culture and that always starts at the top.

I totally subscribe to Patrick Lencioni's belief that the first dysfunction of any team is in the absence of trust. I also agree with Simon Sinek Inc. when he describes the number one criteria the US Navy SEAL uses to hire new team members.

Needless to say, there's lots of literature out there on how to nurture trust amongst teams, however, I haven't seen many that follow my simple laughter theory. Anyone who can laugh at themselves and with others will have started to create a trust relationship.

For the potential nay-sayers I suggest reading the work of Dr Brian Harman. For him, "laughter and trust are intertwined at both a primitive and genetic level. A deep laugh will raise your head back, exposing the neck. That’s one of the most vulnerable parts of our body, because of the carotid arteries, the cranial vagus nerves and the jugular vein that carries blood and important signals to our brain.

Laughter, for those reasons, is a physical signal of trust. You don’t laugh with people who threaten your safety - just the opposite. You laugh with the people you trust. Laughter can also be used to quickly create trust."

Thank you Chris for having delivered a firecracker of a performance and helped us close Q1 2021 in style. Stay tuned as we never stop at Paysend - there's always more learnings to absorb!

To celebrate the end of our Q2 2021 we have a famous Scientist turned Astronaut speaking to Paysend about persistence and resilience. We will also host an explorer who climbed Everest 15 times to share his learnings with his unlimited sense of adventure and curiosity.

We are Paysend. Are you Ready?
