Altruism

As a follow up to my previous post (thank you, by the way, for all your donations) I wanted to share a reflection on #Altruism, which also translates well to the #servantleadership style in the workplace something we deeply believe in here at Paysend.

Altruism can be described as the unselfish concern for other people - doing things simply out of a desire to help, not because you feel obligated to out of duty or loyalty and as a servant leader, you're a "servant first" – you focus on the needs of others, especially team members, before you consider your own.

I personally benefit from this approach (whether at or outside work) with improved physical health, better mental well-being and deeper relationships with others.

Most of us don't need major intervention or help - even small gestures will have great impact. However, it only ever works if you actually put your thoughts, big or small, into action!
